Week 10

Today is the beginning of week 10. The baby has grown a lot in the past few weeks, and will officially be a fetus rather than an embryo at the end of this week!

This week the baby is the size of a green olive at the beginning of this week:-) His or her embryonic tail is completely gone, the heart has divided into 4 distinct chambers, tiny teeth buds are starting to form and eyelids cover the baby's eyes this week!

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! We hope everyone is doing something fun for the three day weekend! We are staying in town, and going to try to relax. Its been a very busy week for both of us, especially Jason, so we both need to catch up on our sleep. Other than that, were going to a BBQ at Ali's on Sunday which should be fun!

On another note, Jason's parents are coming to visit next week! We're both really excited. With them living in Oahu, we don't get to see them enough. Its dad's birthday, so it will be fun to be able to celebrate that with him. Their friends Tim and Penny live near us, and its Penny's birthday as well so we are going to get to celebrate with both of them on Friday, then go to an angels game on Saturday- Were looking forward to a fun weekend with them!

OB Appointment

We had our first OB appointment this morning, and it was wonderful! We were able to see our baby on the ultrasound, and it looked like a little gummy bear wiggling all over the place! We were also able to see the heartbeat fluttering, which was really cool to see. Our OB was very happy with the progress, and said that it's safe to to tell everyone that we are having a baby!

It was so great to see Jason's face light up when he saw his little baby on the screen. Since he hasn't been the one feeling any symptoms, and I haven't really started to show other than being realllllly bloated, this must have made it feel so much more real for him! I know it did for me!!

They also pushed back the due date to December 28th. This is exciting! We are either going to have a Christmas or a New Years baby!!
The picture below shows the head on the left, and the little arm and legs stubbs on the right:-)

Weekend

We hope everyone had a great weekend! Jason and I did. We worked on the house, and Jason finished replacing all of the light switches and sockets, and also replaced a bunch of hinges on a dresser that was in need of repair - He is sure turning into a handyman! We also started clearing out the loft which is going to be our baby's nursery. It still has a lot of boxes, bags of baby stuff and Jason's home gym, but its looking a lot more organized then it has since we moved in over a year ago... That room had always been the catch-all room for stuff we didn't know what to do with. Thankfully we were able to find a Goodwill that was open on Sunday so we could go donate a bunch of stuff we wanted to get rid of.

This is an exciting week for us! We get to go see the first glimpses of our little peanut on Thursday morning!! Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well, and that the baby is growing like it should be!

Just Starting Month 3

Thankfully this pregnancy has been easy so far! I have heard so many horror stories about terrible morning sickness, and thankfully I have only felt queasy 2-3 times, and never been close the throwing up! Other than being very tired, I've been doing really well! People have been saying that if the 1st trimester woes were to hit me, they probably would have hit me bad by now. If this is as bad as it gets for me, I really lucked out!!

We are so fortunate to have great friends and family! My sister Victoria has been especially helpful! Our niece Addison will be 2 next month, and Victoria has been collecting all of the clothes, toys and stuff that Addie has outgrown and let us use it! She even stopped by the other day and dropped off all her maternity clothes! That is going to save me so much money- I can't begin to thank her enough! Its so great to have a sister that is your same size and has the same taste in clothes who only lives 20 minutes away:-) So far we have a bassinette (Thanks mom!), a bunch of little girls clothes, a bumbo seat, 2 swings, a doppler, boppy pillow, and the list goes on and on... I think its so silly how some people refuse to use gently used items. Why go out and buy more things just to add to the landfill!! Thanks all you guys!!

Heres our first weekly update......

Our baby is the size of a raspberry!!

How far along: Just started week 9
Total weight gain/loss: +/- a pound or two
Maternity clothes: Not yet, but my pants are sure tight and my flat stomach is gone!
Stretch marks: Thankfully no. Nobody in my family gets them so I am crossing my fingers that good genes and lots of Palmers lotion do the trick!!
Sleep: Still great. Weird dreams though.
Best moment this week: Relaxing with the hubby
Movement: None yet, and none probably for a while
Food cravings: Chocolate milkshakes, anything with cheese
Food aversions: None. I love to eat.
Gender: don't know, but were definitely going to find out!
Belly Button in or out: In
What I miss: Coffee, lunch meat and Jack Daniels:-)
What I am looking forward to: Our first OB appointment next Thursday!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep as much as you can and don't stress!
Milestones: Baby is now able to move its arms and legs:-)

When we found out

We officially found out that we were having a baby at about 4 weeks. Right away I started having symptoms that were classic pregancy symptoms, but it was way to early to have a positve home pregnancy test. We did finally get a positive result, and we were so excited when the doctor confirmed it!

We're Having a Baby!!!

Yes, you heard right. If you didn't already know, were having a baby! We are both so excited to be starting this new chapter in our lives together, and can't wait to see what the future brings for our family! We lucked out in the fact that we had our trip to Fiji, and then got pregnant right after we got back. It was so great to get away as a couple one last time before all these big changes started happening! As it stands right now, our little one is due on Christmas day. Can you believe that! a Christmas baby!!

We're going to be posting a lot about what is going on with our baby's development, along with other stuff that is going on in our lives! Stay tuned:-)
